If people were to buy their narcotics from a government run store there would be less black market trade going on. “Bender. The penitentiaries would not spend as much due to the decrease in drug crime. There is over 100,000 canadians in jail right now because of drug offences once they are set free there would be a drop in spending because of how many releases there would be. The government can decrease these costs by legalizing hard drugs by not having to spend so much on the offenders because there will not be any. There would be no punishment which would cost less. Punishment increases the danger of drug use by forcing users into an illicit market. “Bender.
