Why Guns Should Be Banned On Campus

Everyone expects to be safe and secure, when going throughout their day activities, especially when going to college; no one should have to be worry or be frantic that a mass shooting could happen to them when being at college. But the sad reality is where not safe and secure, in just the brief time from 2013-2015 there has been seventy-six college and universities suffer from gun related incidents (everytown). That is why I strongly stand against the campus carry law, it just allows more guns on campuses and to some more fear. Even though we would like to think that the one with the concealed carry license and has a gun, is there to protect us, the truth is that is not always the case and that the individual could be the mass shooter. There have been many incidences where if guns were banned on campus they would have never occurred, like in 2013 where a student who attended the University of Southern Mississippi accidently shot himself while in his car at the university, or the college professor Idaho State University in 2014 who shot himself in the foot in the middle of class by accident (thertrace/moregunsmorrefatal). There is also that issue that when colleges allow guns on their campus, can cause students to escalate their arguments into lethal reinforcement; like when a fraternity fight broke out at Northern Arizona University, and one of the individuals went to his vehicle and begin to open fire, killing one and injuring three others, another incident occurred at Texas Southern University, where another individual killed one person and wounded and innocence bystander
