Why Guns Are Not Safe

Decent Essays
I believe that guns are unsafe and that the are causing danger to all people. Unless they are used the proper way.

Guns? Yes or No?

Do think that everyone should be able to have a gun or that guns are safe. I think that not everyone should be able to have a gun. I also think that guns are not safe for police, kids, and the citizens of the world.
My first reason the safety for the police. You hear on the News about Police getting shot and killed. Its sad to think of there family wanting them to come home safe but they don't. If it wasn't so easy to get a gun then it would happen as much and less police would get shot. 48 police have died this year so far this year. It is already 9 more than 2014. According Officer Down Memorial Page “K9 Helo was shot and killed while attempting an apprehension following a vehicle pursuit in Palmer, Alaska.” Even police dogs are getting shot and killed. I think that guns are not safe for police or police dogs.
2nd guns are not safe for kids. I kids get ahold of the guns that their parents might own the could critically hurt themselves or another person.I think that if Parents don't have guns or they keep them locked away that could be better but I also think that if a an older child finds the key and opens it to show his friends or

If anyone can get a gun or any one can we can all get hurt. For example I was at Walmart last week and saw a man and his wife looking in the gun case. There was no one there to see what he was doing. I went around the ile and saw him open one of the cases again no one was there. Right next to it was a pack of bullets but luckily the man was nice and put it back. To be standing there was scary. He could have loaded that gun and left that store so easily because no one was there. Anyone could just walk up grab the gun and be gone. They could come to your house and hurt you! To think that any person could easily get one of those

She was able to escape back to her house where she grabbed her gun and called for the police. This story again has the fallacy that owning a gun helped her out in any way. She was only able to grab the gun after the fact and it played no rule in preventing or stopping the incident that had happened. The common thread in both of her stories were that she was threatened by men and in both cases she felt safer because she had a gun.…

More than 10,000 people die every year from gun homicide, and most are from around 15-24 year olds. About 8,512 people have died last year from gun violence. I believe that individuals should not be allowed to have the right to bear arms because in most cases, it does not actually help people, children have easier access to dangerous guns, and having a gun makes the owner living there statistically more dangerous. First of all, many people argue guns are needed for protection purposes, but there are rarely any cases of citizens using guns. According to Carimah Townes, a Criminal Justice Reporter for ThinkProgress,“Between 2007 and 2011, 29,618,300 people experienced a violent crime, but only 235,700 — 0.8 percent — of victims used or threatened…

GUN CONTROL Do you think we should have more gun control? My answer is yes, the world is full of idiots that have no common sense. With all the shootings and mass chaos happening in our society, we need to regulate our gun laws. I think we should not let the citizens who have ever commited a crime and who have received a felony for their crime should not have access or the right to own or possess a fire arm.…

Also according to the website all the following; total number of incidents, total number of injuries, total number of children and teen death, total mass shootings, total police deaths, and the total accidental shootings all have increased in just one year. I know people want to be able to defend themselves…

    Why Should Guns Be Banned

In America, there is a growing perception that guns are: they are harmful, they kill, and they commit crimes, and so most guns should be banned. But, how can a gun kill or commit crimes; it is not a living thing, it is a tool. With the use of guns, America has grown to be a strong and independent country throughout history. The push to ban guns will only keep guns away from law abiding citizens since criminals, by nature, do not follow laws and respect the gun free zones. The banning of guns in America should end.…

On an average day in the United States 93 americans are killed by gun violence. There are also 1000’s of cases that involve a child being injured or killed by a stray bullet every year. Does this mean that guns are dangerous or does it mean we are using guns for the wrong intention? There are many reasons people use guns but like everything else some people use it for good and some for evil. Since the United States can't take away all of our guns I feel there should be some guns you should be able to purchase at your local store for self-defense or hunting and there are also some guns in which you should go through heavy background checks to be able to purchase.…

In fact, owning a gun can actually be more safe than not having one. It can bring a sense of security to your home knowing that you have some sort of protection. Someone who is properly trained can safely protect their house and family from anyone trying to harm them while not having to worry about any accidents happening. Everyone hears of those accidental shootings once in awhile, but how much blame can we put on guns? Car accidents happen every day but no one blames cars, so we shouldn’t blame guns.…

That is why I think there should be more gun control laws. If we would have always had more gun control laws, lots of these major acts of violence would not have happened, which were somewhat of a domino effect. I think it is too easy for criminals and the mentally ill to get their hands on a firearm. There is a class you take and a very shallow background check, and then you have a very powerful weapon in your hands. That weapon could easily be handed to a violent criminal.…
