Gun Ownership Proposal

The right of gun ownership has been a rhetorical controversy to the citizens in the U.S. One might favor it, others disagree with the idea. It’s like the conflict between Republican and Democrat, one support it and the other ban it. This topic has reflected in my research base on what I feel about gun ownership. My research proposal is, should we outlaw gun ownership or no, or neither in Arizona? The dependent variable of this research is the percentage of people in Tucson who agree or disagree with this ideology. How the government react to it and what are their voices for gun control? One way I can find my dependent variable is via researching tables containing materials with percentages or numbers. Another way is to talk to a member of gun control and get as many details as I can. I’m going to measure the way Tucson view gun compare to other states. How big is their concern with gun controls? After the tragedy, gun fire that happens in Tucson, what different action are they going to take? At the end of this research I’m hoping to find what is the opinion regarding to gun control and how the other views. Which side would I be in restricting it or favoring it?

There are many other variables in addition to the idea of freedom that is discussed, which can profoundly affect how an individual perceives guns. The article also lacks an emphasis on how the current gun control laws have allowed for events like the Sandy Hook shootings to take place, or how changing the laws would threaten the freedom that gun owners fiercely protect. Additionally, his focus on freedom is not very convincing. Many points are highly speculative and do not reference any “concrete” data that would justify her reasons for discussing these…

Realizing that his audience includes liberals who know this, Cronin does not try to find any rare statistics that are in favor of firearms. Although he could have just avoided numbers altogether, he concedes that, “statistically speaking, a gun in the home represents a far greater danger to the inhabitants than to the intruder” (Cronin 20*). Although he is giving up some ground on his case, this confession shows readers that Cronin is not trying to fool anyone. He argues that the dilemma of gun ownership is not as much about what the stats says, but instead a decision that “comes from the gut” (Cronin 20*). By admitting that guns could potentially bring danger to his family, it makes the reader even more eager to hear his pro-gun…
