Why Gun Control Should Be Banned

In a perfect world, if everyone obeyed the law, it would be a safe world. In today’s society there seems to be no such thing as “safe”. Especially when it comes to gun control. This debate on whether or not citizens can carry firearms or not has caused an uproar in the national. America was raised on this God given right to carry weapons such as guns if people want to, not if the government allows them to. Taking guns away from individuals would be unconstitutional. Gun control should be eradicated because people do not have the protection they need, individuals have certain lights, and gun violence has failed to be reduced.
The protection of our citizens in America should be a number one priority. Therefore, gun control should be banned because, young and elderly people lack that safety that should be provided. One example being, if a college student walking to her car is attacked late at night and then murdered, how would that make the government look, knowing they could have prevented this case if they allowed hand guns to be carried. As Roger D. McGrath states, “These rights are not granted to men by a benevolent government, but given to man by God. They are not to be destroyed, suppressed, or even compromised.” As individuals, having a right to do something that allows us to have freedom and then it be taken away is wrong for the government to do. The world is a much more dangerous place today than it used to be, but not because of the weapons used to harm others, but dangerous by the people in control of these firearms.
