Why gods of Olympians had flaws or frailties

Human flaws or frailties, we all have it, like arrogance, greed, impatience, disloyal, etc. One of the most surprising things are that even Olympians have the flaws that humans possess. This is shown throughout the Greek myth. Some of the flaws or frailties are: Greed as seen in story and in “The Moral World” story. Jealously seen in “The Trojan war”. Lastly, being disobedient as seen in the “Daedalus and Icarus” and in “The Creation of Mortals”. All these three human flaws and frailties are seen in these stories, it is expected that the gods do not have any flaws. However, they actually do have flaws and frailties.
First flaw of the gods is greed. In “The Moral World” King Midas, who ruled a

In the story of “Daedalus and Icarus” Daedalus and Icarus are flying away from the labyrinth, which was a punishment for offending King Minos. They managed to escape by crafting two sets of wings made of feathers and molded wax. Before the flight, his father Daedalus declared to Icarus that, he should not fly too high, or the sun will melt his wings, or to fly too low because the waves will tear his wings. At first, he listened to his father very attentively. However, after escaping, he felt the rapture of soaring through the skies and flew higher. Although his father, Daedalus told him not to fly too high he decided to fly above the suggested height and the wax began to melt. From flying to high, his pair of wing melted and he began to plunge into the water, where he ended up drowning. As stated in the book, ”Icarus began to fly higher and higher until the wax began to melt”(James Head & Linda Maclea 30). Listen to elders because they are experienced. If Icarus would have listened to his father he would have escaped alive. However, it is his arrogance and being disobedient that ended up killing him. Experience and wisdom makes elders wise. They made gone through multiple decisions and they know that is the right decision and tha is the wrong. Elder family members are there to help/ guide us through life. Another form of Disobedience is in “The Creation of Mortals” in which Zeus demanded Hephaestus to make an irresistible woman, called Pandora. Zeus married her to Epimetheus, and gave her a sealed chest as a wedding gift. Under no circumstances was it to be opened. However, the inevitable happened, in which she opened the chest, causing all the evils to pour out-poverty, disease, greed, etc. This all could have not happened if she had listened to Zeus and not opened the box. Her curiosity and ignorance made her open

He's treated as the master musician, the archer god, the god of light, the speaker of truth, and the healer. He's sought out by the people as an Oracle, the common folk looking towards him to know their prophecies and predict their futures. Apollo at Delphi was a purely beneficial power, since he guided the people to have a glance at the God's wills.…
