Multiple reasons could be provided for reasons why one would want to be a healthcare professional such as the salary and recognition. However, my reason involves personal involvement with numerous hospital visits that surrounded me with caring doctors with the will to help people. My mother suffers from chronic compression and stress fractures in her lumbar, this one complication has led to many doctor appointments in which I have attended. Seeing the doctors so committed to helping her as they do with every other patient they see is my main reason for wanting to go into the medical field. I see many qualities within myself that I believe will help me in this field and also contribute the the reason I want to go into medicine. I am very …show more content…
Another quality I have is persistence, I am not the kind of person to just give up when things get hard, I will constantly push in order to achieve any goal I set my mind to. Empathy and selflessness are two other traits I have. I have the ability to put myself in someone else’s shoes in order to understand and console them. I tend to put others before myself and I am always searching for a way to help people, which is what I see the medical field as; a way to help others live their best life possible. Due to the amount of hardships I have experienced throughout my life, such as coming from a one parent household and growing up with less of an economic advantage than others around me, I have learned to work hard. Things have never been given to me and I have had to work for everything I have received. Also due to my personal situation, I have always had a will to make others lives better than mine, and this can all start with helping them as patients and influencing their lifestyle. My work ethic and traits that I have developed throughout the bumps I have faced in my life will allow many more successes and being admitted into the K-HOP program will be proof that no matter what background someone comes from, they can still succeed and

In the future, after gaining more knowledge and experience about mental health, I want to create mental health service agencies across the United States that will help the…

Determination is something I knew I wanted to achieve when I started college it is something everyone needs to possess to be successful in life to better their future. For example, from the moment I started in the dental hygiene program I was determined to pass my courses and to graduate. I had to be determined in my courses if I wanted to be able to take my state board and hopefully become a licensed dental hygienist. Without determination, I know I would not be where I am today in my life and my career path.…

For a long time, I had been fascinated with children and how they think and how resilient they are at such a young age. I began to notice this at around the age of 13 when I began babysitting for family friends’ children. As I began to realize that I love being around children, I began to look into career fields that involve children Throughout my high school and college career, I continued to work with kids, I volunteer with many youth organizations through my school, such as the child care center on campus. The most impactful experience for me occurred while I was a sophomore in High School, a young boy that I attend school with was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia.
