Why Football Is Important To Me

After reading Kaitlyn Underwoods blog post “OU gets a little clut-ish about football sometimes” I just laughed. It really was not a funny blog entry, but suddenly I had realized just how much football matters here at OU. I love everything there is to love about football season. I am the first person to claim my student ticket, and start thinking ahead at all the possibility that will be offered to me when Saturday rolls around. I am religious, I have grown up my entire life going to church and building a relationship with God. However, after I read the blog and started to think about the prompt, I was amazed when I thought about how dedicated we all are about football. I do not think loving football is a bad thing; but if more people were this passionate about their morals or religion, think about the effect it would have on this university. Honestly, I don’t know how other universities feel about football season, or if they are as into it as students here at OU. I have to assume it has something to do with the way we were all raised growing up, or perhaps some students grew …show more content…
I loved the show; it always kept me on the end of my seat. The football environment reminds me a lot of OU. Even though the show is based off a high school team, the show portrays the same feeling we all hopefully experience when under the stadium lights. I watched this series for the first time last year, and I have never been so thankful I watched it then. One thing the show does teach is equality, especially when dealing with racism. The show takes place in Texas, the football team is pretty much split half white and half black, and some issues always arose and settled while leaving viewers with a lesson each time. I thought it was a God thing that I watched the show when I had the opportunity to use the lessons I learned with the show in my real
