Why Football Is Important To Me-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
Many things have happened to me in my life. The one I remember most was the day my grandmother took me to my first foot-ball game. I was doing so well in school, my grandmother wanted to reward me with, something she knew I would like to do and she knew I loved football. That morning my grandmother was standing in the door with something behind her back smiling. Taking it from behind her back, she said “these are tickets to a football game “, and handed them to me. I was so happy because football was my favorite sport and I always wanted to see a live game. I couldn’t wait until tonight when the real fun starts. I went to school that morning, I was in class very antsy and exited I couldn’t wait to go home and then to the game. All …show more content…
I lived about twelve blocks away from the school so by the time I got to my house I was heavily panting, but that didn’t stop me I was too eager to go to that game. When I finally got upstairs, I grabbed my bag and was ready to go, so was my grandmother. We pulled into the lot of the stadium and could hear all the roaring and chanting coming from it. We also could smell all the outstanding foods; we didn’t know whether it was coming from the stadium or the people that were grilling in the parking lot. My grandmother finally found a parking space and we headed inside. As everything started to get brighter and louder my heart started to race more and more it was like I was going into another dimension. When we finally bust through that wall of light I tried to find my favorite player “Tom Brady” but I couldn’t, I guess because my eyes were still adjusting to the bright lights when they did, I spotted him over on the sideline warming up throwing the ball back and forth with one of the wide receivers. When the game started the crowd started to go wild because it was a classic rivalry between the Patriots and the Giants. Towards the end of the first quarter, Brady gets hit pretty …show more content…
We were losing 23 to 21 all the way to third quarter they were winning by a two point conversion. One of their best wide receivers caught a fifty yard pass for a touchdown in the fourth quarter I really thought it was over by then. They finally put Brady back in. I could tell his game was off a little because of that limp he got from that tackle earlier in the game. That didn’t stop him, he was throwing complete passes the whole second minute of the first quarter until he got a touchdown. I got excited to know we were down by two again and as the referee told the players about the two minute warning, the suspense was killing me. Going into the third minute of the fourth quarter they still had the ball and my heart was beating rapidly, so much I thought it was going to pop out my chest it calmed down a little once we got a turnover on downs. It was twenty seconds left on the clock Brady threw a Hail Mary pass to get a quick touchdown because of the time but it was incomplete. He had one more chance because now it was ten seconds left, but this time he didn’t throw a Hail Mary; instead he did a fake field goal attempt and threw a short pass. I couldn’t believe it and judging by the

One of the most popular sports conspiracy theories to come out of the past Century will probably go down in history as the deflate gate . It entails the fact that the Patriots were accused of deflating footballs in the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. Many believe that the Scandal has married a lot of holes and that is not fully born to be convicting Tom Brady quarterback of the New England Patriots of any wrongdoing. Though the Patriots have had a history of some sport scandals such as Spygate it does not solely reflect the face of the franchise Tom Brady. Brady is openly stated that he likes playing with the deflated football but has never admitted to deflating them himself or telling anyone to deflate them.…

Standing there on the street, I stood staring up to a hundred giant football players walking by me. As I held the rope that the football players walked through, I stretched out my hand to try and high five as many of them as I could. One… two…three…twenty-seven…twenty-eight…twenty-nine! Each one of them pranced by while the drum line marched them on to the beat of the fight song. Standing there looking up at the enormous football players, I avidly wondered what it would be like to walk through this crowd to go play at Highlander Stadium.…

Looking back on these days they were tough. Every night before practice was over we ran killers and I also had to review plays for my new position as running back. To put this game in my eyes this was huge if you were to ask another player they would have said differently. If we were to win this game this would help us forget our last season with a losing record of 1-7 and I think this helped motivate me for this game. This has been rolling over and over in my mind for the past couple days and I half to admit I was pretty pumped and ready…

The Backfield Package by Thomas J. Dygard is a fiction sports story about a football team that has a chance to win the Rend Lake Conference championship in back to back seasons. The story mainly focuses on four players Joe Mitchell the quarterback, Tracy Jackson a wide receiver, Coley Brewster a running back, and Lew Preston the fullback and where these players will decide to go to college to play football at. The time that this story goes on is unknown, but I would assume that the time is sometime in the nineties or pretty close to there. The story takes place though in southern Illinois at a small high school named Hillcrest High.…
