Football has always been a topic of discussion when it comes to whether it is too dangerous or not. People will say that football is too dangerous because of the recent news on CTE or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. Which is degenerative brain disease that is found in people who have had a server blow to the head or multiple blows to the head. This is not the only reason why some people say that football is too dangerous? Others say that there is the possibility of sustaining a severe neck injury or spinal injury that could possibly paralyze someone for the rest of their life. I have been playing football for over ten years and it is very special to me. I have seen many injuries and understand that football can be dangerous. Injuries can happen even people are playing safe and correctly. Its apart of life and there will always been injuries. With the technology, we have today with helmet sensors and the research we have about the human body. Football can become one of the safest sports to play. When you look back at the equipment they used back in the day, it is far different from what we use today. They used to play with just leather cap on. Now we have shoulder pads and helmets that have shock absorbing padding. There is also better technology for injury prevention and injury recovery. People have also realized that the sport can cause injuries so there is more training at all levels for coaches and trainers too look for signs of concussions or injuries. When a player possibly shows signs of a concussion they are taken off immediately to be looked at by a trainer or a …show more content…
The other side of this argument is that football is a dangerous sport. On the first side of the argument you have people saying that football is dangerous because of concussions and injuries and the other side of the argument saying that football is safe because of the technology and resources. No one side is one hundred percent right about football and the risks of them, but there are ways to make sure that it is fun and safe for all. I believe that with technology and new resources we can make this game safer. Also, new training and lessons about concussions and injury prevention can also help make the game safer and bring both sides closer
