I believe that despite living in a rural or urban setting, a four-day school week may or may not have a strong impact on academic success, but rather the quality of education during that time (four-day school week) will. The biggest concern many people have is whether or not a shorter week will aid students in their learning, or hinder them. The opinions of a four-day’s impact are mixed, there are educators who feel a four-day week hurt students (Herring, 2010), other have reported higher grade-point averages as a result of switching to a four-day school week (Toppo 2002; Turner 2010). Four-day school weeks offer many pros and cons that affect school district employees, students and parents.…

The school board plans to add one and a half hours to school each day. Do you agree or disagree with the school board extending the average school day? I have a mildly, strong disliking for this poorly and stupid thought out idea. The truth is school is already quite lengthy and it would be a dreadful idea to add more time. I would not be able to have anytime for the activities that I and many others do.…

How would you feel if your school board added an extra hour and a half to you day? Well, some schools now have longer school days; eight and a half hours to be exact. Now the school boards think this is play but some students and parents think this is outrageous. How would you feel if something like this happened to your school? I don’t agree with the school board because if you add more time to the schooldays, then you wont get as much time with your family when you get home.…

Firstly of all i think we should not extend the school day because children would be stressed. Children would be tired because 80% of students don’t go to bed until 11:00 which only gives most children seven hours to sleep. Because of only getting seven hours students would be tired during the day, studies show that we need at least eight hours, so they would most likely get in trouble. In China they…

To whom this may concern to in administration, The schoolboard is considering extending the school day to 5:00 P.M. As a student, I take core classes as well as other electives that give out homework almost at a daily basis. I also have; classwork, electronic assignments, essays, and tests that are all required to be completed as a grade. All these exhaust me and rescind my ability to do anything else but rest once I return to school. Even when I have 6+ hours to complete assignments before I sleep, I struggle to complete assignments because I feel overwhelmed. This is why I jeer at the sheer mention of extending the school hours until 5:00.…

I agree with the school board adding one and a half ours to school each day. My reasons for agreeing with this is that their isn’t enough time in the day for teachers to cover anything properly, Students may need one on one time with their teacher but there isn’t enough time for teachers to get to everyone, and parents may have more personal time to themselves. I agree that school hours should be extended because teachers don’t have enough time to to cover everything thoroughly. Many teachers need and want longer school days to teach the students everything they have plan and not just set aside to be forgotten. Teachers need the extra time to get through everything they want to teach and make sure that all the students understand what they…

Exhausting Hours American students are enrolled in elementary, middle, and high school for about thirteen years of their lives. With a 180-day school year for thirteen years at seven hours a day, American students are expected to attend school for 16,380 hours. School attendance is becoming more stringent and it appears to be inversely affecting American standardized test scores. The school systems of the United States have been so blinded by baseless statistics that they have fallen behind on their steps to success. Countries like Finland are having students excel on standardized tests, yet they are in school for a far shorter period.…
