Why Equality Is Important To Me

I have always followed the trends, ripped jeans, white sneakers, and I always know what is hot and new. So when I saw how everyone was supporting equality, I realised that I need to do so too in order to stay in style. I honestly did not expect it to be so hard to just go along with what most of my friends were saying for a while, but it turned out to be much harder than I thought it would be. After almost a month of pretending I realised that I too want equality, but not the same equality they talk about. I want equality but I still want to be treated better than a person of colour. I am white; I deserve to have my privileges. I should be treated better than any person of any other race (black, latin, asian, arab). I am against police officers being racist and killing innocent people just because of their skin colour, but I do not want the government to treat me, an American citizen, similar to those who do not belong here. I want equality, but I am tired of seeing the media sympathise with those immigrants that get killed, no one ever sympathises with us, White Americans. I want equality, but I still believe that no one of colour deserves a high earning jobs. I am totally against gay marriage becoming legal and the LGBT community, but that does not change the fact that I want equality. People should be treated equally, but not those who ruin our world by going against nature. I want equality, but I do not think that such sick people should be allowed to be a part of our community. They ruin the way the world is suppose to go. How should I respond if while walking down the street my 5 year old sees such creatures.
