In order to achieve total success in education, students need a certain psychological positivity and pride for themselves and their school. They must feel like they are worth something. With this mentality, they stay focused on their studies and determined to succeed in school. Unfortunately, the unequal funding in Iowa negatively affects this mentality. When students learn that other school districts are receiving more funding than them for no reason, or even just see how much better their education and schools are taken care of, they begin to feel that they are worth less than those students. This feeling can and will affect their viewpoints on their education. That pride starts to diminish and is replaced with shame for being a part of a district that is not cared about. With the decline in pride and positivity comes the decline in focus on studies and incline in behavioral issues.
