Why Economics Should Be Taught In School

The topic of my presentation is why economics should be taught as a subject in every school. It is important because it gives us life skills which are part of the real world and which are not taught in school in a direct way. This subject would help us to learn how to take important decisions related with money, learn about how to set priorities, how to be more conscious and more responsible customers and many other skills. These skills are necessary in the real life and schools are supposed to prepare us for our future.
Some people were lucky to have studied a little bit of it when they chose the humanist course. But not those who followed a scientific or mathematical truck. So, they started their real life after school without having knowledge of credits, how to pay their health insurance or the university fee and many other situations. So, these life skills should be included in a subject and taught in a modern and interactive way in order to be able to be part of our learning process from the very start because even children are related in the use of money and no matter what the social-economic situation we are from because everyone has to take important decisions were money is …show more content…
Priorities are everything in life. You think about them when you take decisions, most of the time. Therefore, this subject would help students to realize that they cannot spend money in everything they want because that is not the way it works and they would have a lot of problems in the future. For instance, having debts, losing credit cards because they were too much used, the need to have more than one job in order to pay what they own to commercial companies and/or banks and more situations like these. They would learn that is important to focus on their necessities in the first place, and then, they can pay attention to what things they would like to have or spend their money in.
