Do you want to know why drinking should be illegal because people get killed every year from drinking. Drinking kills Drinking too much can harm your health. Excessive alcohol use led to approximately 88,000 deaths and 2.5 million years of potential life lost each year in the United States from 2006 – 2010, shortening the lives of those who died by an average of 30 years. However according to Mark Thornton The United States already tried to ban drinking from the United States because National prohibition of alcohol in (1920-33)—the “noble experiment”—was undertaken to reduce crime and corruption, solve social problems, reduce the tax burden created by prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene in America. According to Evan Andrew "Our country has deliberately undertaken a great social and economic experiment, in motive and far-reaching in purpose." It was an experiment after all, an experiment in ridding America of alcoholic beverages.The prohibition went from 1920-1933 and since then some states have kept this prohibition in place. Another reason why drinking shouldn’t be illegal is because you have to be 21 to drink and by then you are grown up well some people at that age think that they make their own decision so if someone told them they couldn’t drink they would probably say i’m grown enough to make my own decision. If government told someone that was 21 they couldn’t do something then they probably wouldn’t listen because government says that people can’t sell or do drugs so if the government told them they couldn’t drink they would probably do the same with drinking like they do
