Why Trump Shouldn’t Be President-Elect

The past week has marked the dark and important time in history when Trump was elected to be the next president. Our President-Elect had brought out the angry and racist part of our country. It is clear that Donald Trump should not be president, and will be explained in the following paragraphs.
First of all, Donald went against the fourteenth amendment, by saying racist things about minorities and sexist things about women. He has talked about banning muslims and bring back In my opinion, one of the worst things trump said was in a interview that was recently leaked from 2005. This video shows Trump unashamedly talking about sexually assaulting women. He proudly spoke about groping women without their consent. ¨ I moved on her like a b**ch, but I couldn't get there, she was married.¨ In addition to this, many women recently came out about how Mr. Trump sexually assaulted them. The fourteenth amendment is to give equal protection to all under the law. On the other hand, our president-elect is making citizens of America feel discriminated and unsafe for who or what they are. He and isolates women for their gender, not their

The first reason is because Clinton won the popular while trump won the electoral college. One of the huge reasons we have a president instead of royalty is because elections are meant to give everyone a voice. This is not what the electoral college vote does. The electoral college makes certain people's votes more important than others. This means that the presidential candidates only care about certain states with less people, instead of the states with more people. So even if more people voted for Clinton, it wouldn't matter if Trump won the electoral college ( which he did ). This information proves that not only does it show that Hillary Clinton could have been president, but also that the electoral college goes against the point of

For the fifth time in U.S. history, and the second time this century, a presidential candidate has won the White House through the Electoral votes, while apparently losing the popular vote. It just so happened that Hilary won the popular votes having 65,435,318 and Trump having 62,788,630 total popular votes. While, Hilary had 232 votes in the Electoral College, Trump, who had a total of 306 votes, is the president elect of the United States. In order to understand the above subject as it relates to the 2016 elections, it is highly important to do a breakdown of the different branches that make up the final outcome of the elections held in the United States of America.…

He has claimed that Hispanics are rapists, Muslims being terrorist, and women being pigs. The hatred and disrespectful attitude that Trump has isn’t fit for president. Recently at one of his rallies, he bashed at one of his own supporters simply because her baby began to cry. So the question must be asked; do we really want this man as our next Commander in Chief? As far as eligibility, Donald Trump meets all requirements for a presidential candidate, but many people find his actions unpresidential. This is mostly related to the crude things he has been known to see over the past couple of months. For example, speaking one day in Iowa, Donald Trump said, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose voters,” (Source 5). Donald Trump was looked down upon for this comment and definitely not the over-confidence that should be found in a President.…

Would it not make sense that if a candidate receives more votes from actual American citizens that they should become president because it is clearly who the majority of people want? The Electoral College puts the power in the hands of only a small group of representatives instead of the American citizens. Source A shows that Al Gore won the popular vote with 50,456,062 votes, but since George Bush won the Electoral College by 5 votes, Bush won the presidency. Clearly, the majority of United States citizens wanted Al Gore to run the country. These numbers show that it is truly not the American citizens’ decision on who becomes president, but instead the small amount of representatives from each state.…

Donald Trump should not be president for the year 2016. First of all, what amazingly beneficial things will he do for America? He is a republican; he cares not for America and all of her citizens but for money and if he becomes president America will be ruined. Trump is not a man with the experience of war, or being in charge of a whole country and all the people in it, but a man of business and economy. Also if he is elected for the leader of our country, and if he has the generosity, he could get all of the citizens of America out of debt.…

Argument 1: Under the current Electoral College voting system, whoever wins the majority of the votes cast doesn’t always win the Presidency. Throughout the history of the U.S. Presidential election there have been 5 candidates with less popular votes than their opponents that went on to claim an Electoral College victory. The current election holds the largest margin to date; Hillary Clinton currently leads Donald Trump by 2.84 million popular ballots cast. (Wasserman)…

In the 2000 presidential election, most people were prepared to accept that Al Gore would be the next president even though he would likely lose the popular vote. However, the opposite happened. George Bush won the presidency through a small margin of electoral votes, but had lost the popular vote of the people. This election is an example of how the Electoral College diminishes the importance of the votes of the people. Most people know of the electoral college, they have read about it in their U.S. Government textbooks or have heard it mentioned in a political news broadcast, but some people are unclear on how much power the electoral college possesses; it is the electors who have the power to elect the President of the United States, not…
