Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen created a spectrum of characters that resonates with society today. The novel reflects on a “male and female agenda” that engraved society’s minds. This agenda is what the typical male and female ought to be, which creates a series of molds for both genders. Throughout the novel, we see the Elizabeth Bennet breaking these stereotypes of what a woman “should be.” In which, she has an abnormal sensibility that allows her to speak her mind, during the conservative times of the 1800s. In my perspective, I think that Lizzy is the reason that the book remains popular and still resonates with readers.
Elizabeth Bennet speaks for herself on countless occasions.
