What doe Paul pray for? (“for this reason. . .”) The Ephesian is a gentile church established by Paul in the City of Ephesus. He recounts that the gentiles once alienated from the promises of God, but now gentiles, who receive the gospel in faith, are fellow heirs of the promises of God. The mystery of the Church revealed to him that the gentiles, are members of the body of Christ same as the Jews who are heirs of the promises. They are partakes with Israel in God’s Son.
