After the Sirens, Odysseus further continues his Nostos by following the route of Scylla and Charybdis. Knowing he could have a chance he takes this route rather than going through the moving rocks, in which no one has made it through alive. Odysseus does not warn his men of the aftermath Scylla and Charybdis may bring, for the sake of his Nostos. Scylla eats six men, for each of her heads, and Charybdis is a whirlpool. If the men knew of the consequences they would not want to go through it, which would hinder Odysseus’ chances of going home.
