Why Does Character Matter

Character matters because it defines who a person is and what their beliefs are. They give an insight on how mature a person is, how they treat others, it shows there moral code, and it helps others around them decide if they are a negative or a positive person. Character is important because it is the basis of a person, it is something that can develop over time but it is also a part of a person from birth. It is the way a person chooses to represent themselves around others in all settings. Character is the moral and behavioral qualities that make a person who they are. It defines a person deeper than physical traits can. Character is how you represent yourself to others. It helps people see you true colors and what you are about. It helps …show more content…
Courage, it is important to stand up for your beliefs, yourself, and others. Respect because giving respect to others and yourself show that you have courtesy for others. Gratitude shows that you can be thankful, for the things people have given you. Empathy, it shows that you are able to sympathize with other people and their feelings. Perseverance shows that no matter what a person is willing to keep trying and never give up. Responsibility shows that a person is able to be trusted with task and that they will follow through, if given a duty they will put their all into it and get it done to the full extent as possible. Trust is an important characteristic because it shows that your word is the truth, that someone can put all their faith in what a person says they will do and that person will do it. Integrity is important because it shows that you have morals as a person and it is something that you follow every day, no one has to be watching you. The ability to take initiative is a great character to have because it means that you can do things and move on to something else without having someone tell you to, you can move on to something else automatically without the direction of someone
