1. Why do you want to be a Lead Consultant?

Being a lead consultant would allow me to better my team, myself and next year’s associate consultants.
I know that I have what it takes to lead a team at SOURCE. As an ESTJ, I live for organization and deadlines. I love to updates calendars, make agendas and create timelines. Two of my greatest strengths are organizing others’ ideas and thinking of pragmatic approaches to big ideas. I know that having this personality type would allow me to create a great dynamic for my team next year. This year, I have always set deadlines for myself and prepared ideas for each team meeting. Next year I want to take this to the next level in order to benefit everyone on my team. My goals will be for each team

While a lead should make sure team and client meetings run smoothly, a lead should not be the loudest voice in the room. The lead consultant should make agendas for each meeting, but more importantly, the lead should create an environment where every team members is able to speak up and share ideas. Moreover, the lead should be inspire and mentor team members. Logistically, a lead takes charge of emailing the client and keeps the team in the loop using Slack. A lead also should also help organize the team’s ideas and ensure that there are clear action steps after each meeting. What is one leadership trait or action that you would emulate from your current Lead and one that you would change?

I admire Matt for his professionalism and his ability to facilitate a great client meeting. I would want to play the same role in client meetings next year that Matt has this year. Matt ensures that each client meeting runs smoothly but distributes talking points to the team members before the meeting. If someone were to watch the client meeting, it would be unclear who the lead consultant is. In my opinion, this is incredibly important characteristic of a client meeting. My lead facilitates great client meetings, but I would change the way the team meetings are organized. I would create agendas for each team meeting and distribute deadline focused projects.
