Why Do You Think Janie's Goals In Their Eyes Were Watching God

Midterm Essay: Dreams, Hopes, and Plans In the book Their eyes were watching god Janie was a character who liked to dream and hoped for the best in her future. She had goals that other people seen were unrealistic and childish. Janie wanted to live in a fairytale and marry somebody who she can stay with forever, but that didn’t happen. The reason why Janie had different goals and visions is because she didn’t want to be like everybody else and just put up with what people tell them what to do and live an unhappy life. Without her doing things her way she wouldn’t have been where she was because she would’ve done what people told her to do. When all her husbands wanted her to obey them she putted up with it for awhile then stopped because she didn’t what to do what she was told. When Joe Starks died she was happy she didn’t care nothing about him. People told her she should’ve been mourning the loss of Joe because he did everything for her but in reality he was cruel and mean to her. Why would she mourn somebody who would hit her and kept her locked up in the store all day to do work and not enjoy things with the townspeople of talk to them. Even when Janie ran off and married Tea Cake she didn’t listen to people telling her he was bad but she knew he wasn’t so she ran off with him. That’s why everybody didn’t like her because she didn’t listen but she didn’t care. Janie also didn’t care about what people said about her because she knew who she was and she knew who she loved. Therefore, Janie’s visions and dreams are different because she did things her way and didn’t have to listen to what people
