Calling someone by their race, is it racist? This topic is not really talked about in society and is not brought up. But what is the reason, are they scared to, do we think it will hurt the person? What is the real reason? Some believe that it’s being racist. But you were just calling them a colour. Was it actually being racist. Well the answer depends on the way you say it, and even the person. For example if you say ‘’That black boy in the red shirt gave me the pencil’’ Many people's reaction would be ‘’You said black!!’’ But you might hear this alot on the news ‘’The first black president in the USA was Barack Obama’’ What’s the difference? We ought to embrace and learn more about where they come from and their culture and religion. We should ask questions about how they live. Many people do not know how to react but instead they feel uncomfortable because they are not sure what to call them. For example what do you like to be called?
