Why Do You Say That There Is No Resurrection Of The Dead?

Improved Essays
The resurrection plays a HUGE role in the Gospel. If there wouldn’t be resurrection then there wouldn’t be salvation. There would not be a gospel that would be effective. And because of the resurrection back then, today we can preach that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, that He was buried and the most important thing that He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures.
And none of that would of happened if it wasn’t for the Grace and the
Love of God for us.
1 Corinthians 15:12-14
But if it preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

These people knew him or his apostles and Jesus’ teachings well. Because Jesus had been crucified and resurrected the Gospels were coming from a post-resurrection view. John Wesley spent the greater portion of his life developing an ordo salutis, or order of salvation. While some aspects of his theory of salvation were similar to that of other major denominations of his day (i.e., Lutheran, Catholic), Wesley’s order of salvation was unique. Where most soteriology almost ignored the third person of the Trinity, much of Wesley’s salvation theory and practice emphasized the Holy Spirit. Another unique aspect was the progression a person would take through each stage of salvation.…

One reason for this is that the interval between his death and resurrection (i.e. the three days) proves that Jesus was genuinely dead. By showing “His once dead body immortal and incorruptible” to the disciples, Christ is able to offer them, and the rest of humanity, undeniable proof of the abolishment of death. With the fear of death now annihilated, Christian disciples (i.e. men, women, and children) are “prefer[ing] to die rather than to deny their faith in Christ,… [because they know] full well that when they die they do not perish, but live… and become incorruptible through the resurrection.” Another proof of the power of the resurrection is that many former unbelievers and deriders of Jesus have become believers, and some of those new disciples have become martyrs for their faith in Jesus. These types of witnesses make it hard to deny and doubt that Christ has risen and now lives.…

The character Casey, a former preacher, interprets sin as being purely natural and claims that it does not have much relation to the bible. Casey rejects his religious background when it comes to the topic of sin, doing so because of his divine interest in women. One of the reasons Casey left the church is because of his attachment to women and passion, which in the preaching world is sin. The bible represents purity without women and Casey denies that assertion and states that women and human passion are natural which then makes sin a natural necessity in life. ‘Here’s me preachin’ grace.…

The exact definition of eternal is “without beginning or end; lasting or existing forever.” Anyone could read this definition and understand exactly what it means. However, it is not as easy to say that each person individually is going to have the same thoughts and feelings once the word is fully comprehended. The human brain, as is, is far too complex and well rounded for this to ever happen. In a world consisting of seven billion people, each and every one of us is different.…
