The story discusses a murder within an Black community in which drug dealers are allowed to run free as long as they pay their dues (bribe) officers and they get freedom to sell drugs within their community keeping each other down instead of advancing as a society the police rule and choice to overlook crime in the community is a subliminally a constant reminder of keeping the black people of that particular reason discriminated against and oppressed. In the trial a drug dealer is murdered and people throughout his community get together to hold an unofficial trial in which they attempt to determine what happens to the person who confesses to murdering him. In The reading for this assignment I learned about the legal elimination of racial discrimination. The document being broken down into sectional parts was a successful way to create a break in the information. Part 1 breaks down and furthers the progress for cross racial understanding and how elimination of racial discrimination can be achieved. In part 1 of ICERD pressure is put upon the individuals of each culture to abide by up hold and reinforce the stated laws of eliminating racism. Article 5 is a main emphasis point of the ICERD this particular article is reinforced the most due to it is the basis from where most discrimination occurs. Part 1 generalizes the end of discrimination and presses parties to abide and help rid society of discrimination, also to bring justice to those who act in racially discriminatory ways and enforce proper punishment to those individuals.
Part 2 of the ICERD convention is the regulatory portion in which it explains how the laws will be implemented and enforced to insure racial equality. Part 2 established who would be the regulating party over racial discrimination and has granted them the power to make suggestions to the united nations in order for continued global progress as well as dispute resolution between various groups.
