As the completion increases in the society, people try to look for a way to do things as much as possible in order to have advantages. For them, reducing sleep time is one of the options. In the Ted Talk “Why Do We Sleep”, Russell Foster shows us sleeping is necessary, if not, people may have trouble in health. Most of us have wrong concepts of sleeping and think it will waste time. Actually, sleeping is an important to recover people’s brain. When people sleep, things still active in brain, which benefit to restore and replace of memory. Also, it is a process of storing energy during night because people do not move. Russell states that there are three consequences, if people do not sleep enough. First, people will not have full energy to face difficulties, even they recover sleep in daytime, since they cannot control their body clock. People cannot feel asleep immediately in a wrong time. As a result, people will have bad quantity of sleep. It is easy to cause disaster and people may fall …show more content…
Furthermore, life is a long-distance race and it is not useful to spend all the energy at the beginning. Enough sleeping time will improve our work efficiency. When I get into college, I face different kinds of pressure from different courses. As well as my roommate, she always stays up late to prepare her exams. In high school, I get used to sleep early, but I am affected by her schedule. I stay up late with her, while I think it is not helpful for me because I cannot focus on classes in day time. I change my schedule back and I feel better. At the end, I receive a better grade than my roommate. Also, I can fight for a long time and overcome difficulties step by step. As a human, sleeping is part of our life as well as our careers, it is not effective to cut it down. When people feel tired, they should stop and restore energy so they can walk
