Why Do We Read Shakespeare

Eventually, in the late 1600s, two more folios were published which included many newer improvements and many new plays which are believed to have not been wrote shakespeare. Modern day historians believe that the two later folios were made to meet the changing preferences in the area at the time.
Due to the fact that all of Shakespeare's work is over 400 years old, there are many people who have conspiracy thoughts toward Shakespeare. It's hard to imagine that someone could accuse a very famous person such as Shakespeare of anything, but there are many historians that believe Shakespeare didn't actually write his plays. There is really no right or wrong beliefs on this because no one really knows the true answer. It is known that Shakespeare would have his work advised by many of his friends and peers before he performed them or released them. Many books, plays, songs, and movies produced today are tied back to Shakespeare in some way or another (Hart 4). His work impacts today's society in so many ways that people don’t even realize when they are saying or doing something that all originated from the writings of Shakespeare. For example, Shakespeare is responsible for creating many new words (a lot of compound words). When Shakespeare wrote his plays, 10% of the vocabulary he used was said to be new and never heard before. When you use words such as: fashionable, soft hearted, and lackluster, you are using words that first appeared in the writings of Shakespeare. Also, many popular saying that we use today originated from his works. These include: “in a pickle”, “with bated breath”, “a wild goose chase”, "the green-eyed monster," “green-eyed jealousy.” “gossip”, "The be-all and end-all", "fair play", and "A heart of gold".
