They act like us: they sleep, eat and give birth to young. They can speak their own languages and express their feelings in their own way. Abraham Lincoln said, “I am in favour of animal rights as well as human rights. This is the way of a whole human being.” Humans are intentionally causing them to feel pain, loneliness, and fear. Animals are screaming, yelling in tears and shouting at us to save them from this hell, but we are totally ignoring them. I am extremely upset, indignant, and fired up because animals’ lives can be easily controlled by humans. What’s the difference between animal testing and animal cruelty? Many people around me think there should be animal testing to keep us safe before potentially dangerous chemicals can harm us. I can not ignore that animal testing helps researchers to find drugs and treatments because it aids researchers in finding solutions to improve health and medicines. Many medical treatments have been made possible by animal testing, including cancer and HIV drugs, insulin, antibiotics, vaccines and many others. However, up to this point, too many animals were killed just because of human’s greed. According to the U.K. Humane Society, registration of a single pesticide requires more than 50 experiments and the use of as many as 12,000 animals. If we fill the universe with animals we harmed, there will be no space left. My heart is burning like a fire as I imagine these innocent animals being tortured.
