Why Do We Need To Stop Animal Testing

Improved Essays
Imagine being taken to a place where you are, locked up, with hardly any room for movement, in a small cold cage. You are taken every day to get substances put into your eyes, and poisonous chemicals injected into your skin, which can make your eyes go blind and burn your skin. Do you think these behaviours are brutal and inhumane? Well, these are things that happen to innocent animals. Mice, cats, dogs and other animals are going through horrible experiments. I am so enraged at the fact that animals are used in the animal testing laboratories. I believe we should stop animal testing immediately before we kill even more animals.

Animal testing is the use of animals in experiments. Its purpose is to check the safety of medication or cosmetics,

They act like us: they sleep, eat and give birth to young. They can speak their own languages and express their feelings in their own way. Abraham Lincoln said, “I am in favour of animal rights as well as human rights. This is the way of a whole human being.” Humans are intentionally causing them to feel pain, loneliness, and fear. Animals are screaming, yelling in tears and shouting at us to save them from this hell, but we are totally ignoring them. I am extremely upset, indignant, and fired up because animals’ lives can be easily controlled by humans. What’s the difference between animal testing and animal cruelty? My mind is brimming with anger. My heart is filled with a sea of tears. Is it fair that humans are the only ones with the right to live without being tested? No, it’s not. Some people might think animals as slaves so we can do whatever we want but animals are not. We must treat animals in same ways we treat …show more content…
Many people around me think there should be animal testing to keep us safe before potentially dangerous chemicals can harm us. I can not ignore that animal testing helps researchers to find drugs and treatments because it aids researchers in finding solutions to improve health and medicines. Many medical treatments have been made possible by animal testing, including cancer and HIV drugs, insulin, antibiotics, vaccines and many others. However, up to this point, too many animals were killed just because of human’s greed. According to the U.K. Humane Society, registration of a single pesticide requires more than 50 experiments and the use of as many as 12,000 animals. If we fill the universe with animals we harmed, there will be no space left. My heart is burning like a fire as I imagine these innocent animals being tortured. Apart from animal testing, many treatments can be found with other methods without killing poor

No animal should be held captive to be harmed or tested upon. In order to save human lives, as in animals are hurt in medical testing. According to the Humane Society of the United States, 79.7 million people have pets in their homes just in the United States (The Humane Society of the United States). Everyone should have a companion animal, but scientists should not do any form of testing so these companion creatures can be what they were meant u to be; a member of a family and not a member of a research lab and do not let these animals soon become like the dinosaurs.…

When I first saw YouTube videos about animal experimentation for medical study, I was surprised because animals were being kept in tiny cages, and treated like objects. They weren’t treated as animals at all. It was so shocking because they also can feel emotion, experience pain and think. I didn’t expect something cruel like those tests. But the more I watched, the more I was surprised at how these animals were exposed and horribly…

In a website about animal testing, there are several facts that are named, such as these: more than 100 Million animals in US labs around the country are abused, poisoned, burned, and crippled every year. Also, 92% of the experimental drugs that scientists use on animals, are safe and effective for the animals but do not work for humans because they are too dangerous or they did not work. Animal testing is just awful to do because animals do not need to experience so much pain. Scientists should stop testing animals because it is cruel to animals and animals do not deserve to be treated so badly, and animal lives do not need to be put at risk in order to test something. After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…

Though I concede that in some situations, animal testing may be useful, such as in immensely important medical studies, I still maintain that it is unnecessary to make an animal suffer and be discriminated against. Although some people may think that animal testing is healthy and beneficial to humans, I believe that animal testing is unethical and utterly wrong because of the unfair repulsive treatment that animals receive from scientists. This topic is important because the world we live in is as much an animal 's world as it is a human’s world and right now humans are discriminating and enslaving…
