Why Do We Ever Want To Play Football?

Rough Draft “A relatively new sport, football, has gained a lot of publicity since its birth in 1880 when Walter Camp started to alter the rules of rugby”(Hall of fame 2017). Since this time football has changed a great deal and has become a much more dangerous and violent game for the entertainment of fans. This creates the question, if football has become so dangerous why would anyone want to play it? While football appears as just another sport, not just anyone can participate in it Football has revealed itself as a young man’s game. While men and women alike can play golf, tennis, and many other sports well into their later years football suits a young man best. In football if a man has not been forced from the game of football by the time he reaches the age of 40, he has accomplished something extraordinarily uncommon. One can contribute this to the fact when a man gets older he can not heal as fast and his body starts to break down. “Currently in the National Football League Adam Vinatieri, the oldest person that still actively plays in the league, has reached the age of 44” (Hall of Fame 2017).
