Why Do We Deserve To Be Transgender People?

Growing up, most children worry about the latest toys or coolest shoes. If one girl in the first grade has light up shoes, all the rest just have to have them. From early on, people mature with the anxiety of fitting in, constantly fretting about what the world says. Girls must look cute and flirty while guys have to appear strong and emotionless. The continuing struggle to be accepted by society overwhelms the population, even those who live a typical life. For cisgender individuals, the book of life seems pretty straightforward compared to the life someone who is transgender. For many of them, it was evident at a young age that their sex didn’t correspond to their true gender. Life continually challenges them with more standards to break while being pulled back by society. For them, it was evident from early on that their sex didn’t correlate to their actual gender and that realization lead to a life of never ending struggles. Nevertheless, they are human beings who deserve the rights of all other people. This includes access to restrooms and locker rooms without being judged or teased. Inequality in the workplace must also subdue in order for the world to realize all people, including those of the transgender community, are entitled to basic rights. Whether or not a person identifies as transgender should not allow for another human being to disrespect him or her. Being transgender is a part of that person and he or she deserves a wonderful life just as a cisgender individual. It is simple. The world must recognize the transgender population, not only as people but also as peers. Let them live in this world as their true selves, free of the harsh cruelty many present them with today.
