Decent Essays
I think they have a huge role in childhood problems. I think the increased violence and guns in the video games are leading to increased violence in schools and other public places. I don't think that guns are bad, I not going to dive into the gun ordeal but I do think that video games are causing increased violence. I was sitting at a junior high track meet and 4 boys were sitting behind me talking about the latest Call of Duty and Modern Warfare and what they will be life. I don't think we are ever going to get away from video games but I think the amount of blood, gore, guns, and violence can decreae. I think home life has just as much of a role as the video games but any more now children are repeating what they see on TV and in movies. I don't think it will be long before they start coping what they see in video games.

I like how you touched on age. I too had a similar response about ages playing these games. I went to my little sisters track meet and had four 7th/8th grade boys sit behind me discussing the most recent game to come out. They were talking about the increased graphics and how you could buy a different version that was even better than the original with increased graphics. I have seen many

I think that children when playing these games should know that this is not real life and the actions taken in the game can not be taken in real life. We have so many kids thinking that what happens in the games isn't what will happen in life. They are young and don't realize if you shoot someone they come back to life or don't die. I know we have had a couple kids on our area that were playing with guns pretending to be in the game and shot the other to learn that they don't come back in real life but rather they pass away. I think kids need to know the difference between right and wrong and the consequences of their

It is proven that if you don’t use a skill that you will lose the ability to do it satisfyingly. In addition to the serious brain damage video game players can undergo, they could have very severe health issues such as thinning bones. This happens because the kids aren’t very active and are playing video games instead of playing outside with their…

Even adults can have their thought process affected by violent video games. Children today lack the ability to problem solve due to their fake perception of life whether it be through a game or a television show. It causes them to be socially inept because they would rather be with a device then an actual person. I recently read a book that linked violent video games to the amount of mass shootings we are now seeing in the past ten years in the United States. Due to the glorified violence and lack of reprocussions in the game it brings some people to act out these crimes as their judgement has been skewed. I personally have three young children at home…

Violent role-playing games are a hotly disputed subject within the close-knit communities of parents, educators, and video game designers. Parents argue that they are degrading for their children and educators tend to lean towards the angle that their students do not benefit from the influence of games with violence in them, or ban elementary-school level children from pretending to fight during recess because of, they claim, safety reasons. However, these types of games are educational and beneficial for children, especially if in future life they plan to serve in the military or in any high-ranked government or business position (for the same reasons that businessmen often read Sun Tzu 's The Art of War). They can teach valuable life lessons, they provide an outlet for violent thoughts and feelings, are entertaining, and can stop people from committing real homicides. Violent role-playing games offer an emotional…
