Advantages And Disadvantages Of Extroverts

Today’s world is growing ever more geared towards the extrovert. From offices designed to encourage the highest level of collaboration possible to group projects at school, socialization is practically forced upon everyone. Some people love to live a lifestyle based around social activity. They are outgoing and crave conversations about any topic. These people are called extroverts. On the other hand, there exists a personality group whose characteristics are the complete opposite. Introverts, as they are called, desire time alone. Socialization wears them out. They do not mind talking some, but it had better be about a meaningful subject. The public’s emphasis on communication forces introverts to change their ways. Little do the flamboyant extroverts know that introverts’ natural attributes are needed in the world. Introverts are more likely to step back and consider the options rather than jump to conclusions and make reckless choices.They are more receptive to other’s opinions; it does not have to always be their way.These …show more content…
The answer comes in the fact that they listen. Contrary to the popular belief that extroverted leaders are the best kind, studies have shown that they can actually be harmful to the success of a business (Nobel). They are so convinced that their thoughts are the best that they are sometimes unwilling to consider the opinions of others. Adversely, introverts will earnestly consider the co-workers’ opinions. The workers just have to be willing to put in the effort and have the desire to do a good job. As stated by Carmen Nobel in an article on Harvard Business School’s website, “By fostering a work environment where people feel free to speak up and be proactive, the organization is creating the right place for introverted leaders to be successful” (Nobel).
