Hello, I am Bekah Robertson. Today, I will you give you an insight of why college students should participate in school activities. There are three different types of people you will meet in college; the first type will be all about studying. Second type, will be all about having fun, and the third type is a mixture of both; which is who my uncle was telling me to be. Considering I have been a cheerleading and worked in the REC department for two years now at Northwest, I have concluded that being involved in a school activity can be a powerful influence on a college student. According to collegeparentcentral.com, Twenty percent of graduates said they had been very active in activities and organizations. Clearly only a small percent of students appear to be interested in organized college activities. Therefore, I will give you an insight of why college student should participate in a school activity; reasons are: More clothes, personal development, and academic support. First, let’s begin with my favorite reason, clothes! RedandBlack.com states: T-shirts make a statement, they signify group membership and they basically act as currency among college students. For an example, Ranger cheerleaders receive over $200 worth of Nike clothes just saying “Ranger Cheer.” …show more content…
I also give you examples of how participating in activities has helped me throughout college. Yeah, being involved may take up some of your time but it was many great benefits that comes with it. Become the third type of person like I did, study hard but have some fun too. I hope you all will keep an open mind and join an activity or organization while you are in college.
