Academic theft isn’t as simple as copying rather your devaluing a person by stealing the skills they worked really hard to perfect; therefore, honor codes should be implemented to keep a student’s individuality. Furthermore, cheating is a part of the environment; however, that doesn’t mean we can’t change the environment. Students feel as though they have no control over the honor codes, which is why students need to be incorporated in creating new honor codes to make them feel more immersed in the environment. By incorporating students in enforcing and creating honor codes they will feel a reason to comply to honor codes, which will create trust between not only for student relationship with other students but staff. There is a difference between leading someone to behave better and manipulating them to act as you want. The quote depicted on the bottom of Source A reads “ Recent research has shown that a spy cam can greatly improve the honor code,”(A) which shows the irony of using stricter enforcement as it is beginning to look quite radical and authoritarian.
Trust is important in an environment as you need to be honest get people to trust you.
