If people follow those rule there will be less and less suspensions. the VIP program at the JSAHS gives the student an outline of what students should do and their behavior.
The “V” in VIP stands for value everyone and everything. Students that value everyone and everything show that they value it by working better with others. Should Juveniles get waivered to adult court? In todays law juveniles are allowed to be waivered into adult court depending on certain circumstances. In the Ohio Revised Code the child has to be charged with a felony or a captial offense such as aggravate and then also has to be a minimum age of 14(ORC). The child who is being charged with the crime has to go through an investigation and a hearing before they can be transferred (waivered) to adult criminal court. Some factors that are looked for in the hearing are that there is probable cause to believe the child committed the offense alleged and there are reasonable grounds to believe that the child is not amenable to care or rehabilitation in any facility for delinquent children and the…

These polices can be implemented for a wide variety of reasons, but were commonly regarded as a solution to school bullying. Critics and scientific researchers often advice against using these polices, which have been shown to have an adverse effect on students of urban backgrounds. Out-of-school suspensions are statistically proven to deter students from receiving a high school diploma; specifically among minority males. Students who do face suspension and expulsion due to zero tolerance policies are at-risk of being caught in the “school-to-prison pipeline”.…

Well it has been almost 4 months that I have been attending Roanoke Valley Early College. I love it here and I don’t see how anyone couldn’t. So far I have learned a lot about school. By taking time to observe my surroundings and everyone around me, I have learned that everyone in high school is not your friend and that I am learning how to sense a bad vibe before I let anyone get too close to me. RVEC is the only school that has taught me that all teachers are not these people that hate their job because the teachers here including the ones I don’t take yet are always showing us that they really want to be there and help us and teach us.…

Contained in the works of "Write and Wrong" by Anna Quindlen, and "Let Teenagers Try Adulthood" by Leon Botstein, the term: at risk, is frequently used for students who are projected not to have a higher educational background. Certain policies are the reason some students have little to no interest in education and eventually become just another statistic. Connie Heerman tried to help her struggling high school students by incorporating a plan similar to the one in "The Freedom Writers" but, was suspended. Leon Botstein states that high school doesn 't prepare students for the real world because of the lack of seriousness. School board officials should better connect themselves with their teachers and allow them to incorporate anything beneficial…

A juvenile is a young person who are below the age of 18 accused. Based on some cases, they should also be considered as an adult. In June 25, 2012; the Supreme Court has made a ruling that juveniles who commit murder cannot be given life in prison. Four justices strongly disagree with this ruling, saying how juveniles should always be punished for their crimes from how heinous they are. In my opinion, I believe that juveniles should not receive life in prison under certain circumstances.…

J is for the jitters. We’re all nervous about making a difference as we go out into the world and being something bigger than ourselves. For that though, I think Jim Carrey said it best when he said “like many of you, I was concerned with going out into the world and doing something bigger than myself, until someone smarter than myself made me realize that there is nothing bigger than myself. My soul is not contained within the limits of my body; my body is contained within the limitless of my soul”. K is for acts of kindness.…

Is due process required prior to an afterschool detention? In short, no. In long, the constitution states, in what is often called the Due Process clause, that “[No One shall]… be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” A detention, or suspension, or expulsion is considered a right that belongs to the student. It is not an enumerated right, but we as a country have decided to make it one by making school free and compulsory.…

    The Purpose Of Punishment

It is obvious that the main issue is whether to heal a prisoner simply for the purpose of execution or otherwise. The basic undertone to this argument could be whether the government authority has the power to force prisoners or citizens to take drugs without their consent regardless of their status. Another point of argument could be making a prisoner sane before execution is rational or a good reasoning before killing. In this scenario, Charles Laverne Singleton is a prisoner on death row, and he is awaiting execution for the crime of felony capital murder. Singleton became insane while in prison, it can be inferred that his insanity is related to the approaching date of execution.…
