Many people think that seat belts would increase safety and save lives, however, that is not the case.Without a doubt, school buses are safely designed without the use of seat belts.Also seat belts can cause many complications with emergencies, and considering the statistics, and what problems it would result for the government, it would be beneficial to keep the buses the way they are.

If the bus would crash lap belts would hold a child's pelvis in place, whip their torso forward, and hit their head on the stiff seats with a large amount of force. This could cause neck and head injuries. The driver can not make sure that every kid has their seat belts on. Some buses contain over 70 children, wasting the time needed to drive to school. For emergency evacuations, the seat belts could become an obstacle to get through and slow everyone down. Adding seat belts would be a hassle for everyone to deal with.
