Ecology Essay Sea otters may be the second smallest marine animals, but you would be surprised of what happened if they disappeared. Sea otters have an important role in their ecosystem, their food web, and their interactions with other organisms. They are an intelligent species, and I'll tell you why. Sea otters eat about 40 different marine species.
