Why Do Romans Eat Vegetables?

Today’s Romans do not eat a lot of huge meals daily. Their main diet is made up of pottage, a thick stew made up of wheat, corn, and millet. They will sometimes add a wine sauce or meat to the pottage. The common people eat wheat or barley as their grains, small amounts of fish, olive oil, some wine or vegetables that they’ve grown themselves. If they are among the lucky ones to own a cow, goat, or chicken, they can have access to cheese, eggs, and milk. They currently have access to the herbs and the spices from other countries, along with foods. Eating more foods with herbs means that they now have a profound love for shellfish, a more commonly eaten food now. Vegetables are practically unlimited now, and grapes are usually a part of the
