The idea of this is so powerful As humans we constantly are judging people based on the way they look and to be reminded of these simple words helps us to be more open to the personality of a person. Now we're seeing that we cant go to a restaurant without the proper attire, we can't go to school wearing what we want in order to avoid bullying, and in some cases we can't even go out in public wearing whatever we choose. There is nothing that makes us more human than finding what makes us unique and clothing plays a huge role in making us who we are. For example, fashion magazines try to get us to dress a certain way by setting out trends for us to follow. Even though there are these trends, people like to take it and put their own spin on it and this is what makes them unique. There are even people who will not follow the trends at all which gives them their own sense of style. Both of these examples show that clothing is a way to express your individuality and that restricting the things people can wear takes that away. People should be allowed to wear whatever they want in public.
Being able to wear whatever you want in public can bring you happiness. What you wear can change your whole outlook on the day. For example, when I get ready for the day and put in the extra effort I feel more positive throughout the day. The confidence that new clothes gives you or the comfort of your favorite shirt makes you feel a certain way and can change your outlook for the day. If there are restrictions on what you can wear in public, the freedom to be able to decide how you want to personally feel for the day is taken from you. People should be able to wear whatever they want in

Our culture creates societal norms and double standards. Double standards (as they relate to gender) are standards we hold to only men or only women. As social creatures, to achieve acceptance we continually try to meet standard expectations set by our society. Trying to meet the expectations of others may lead us to fear being different or open the door to discrimination from peers. In this way, standards and double standards in society cause discrimination against people who deviate from normality.…

There has been many attempts to stretch dress code policies, which aren’t as restrictive as uniforms but still hinder rights. For example, 13 year old Alan Newsom had a lawsuit against his school in 2003 for them making him change his NRA shirt. Public schools should not adopt a uniform policy for students because uniforms hinder a student’s individuality and diversity. School uniforms can cause bullying issues to arise. Furthermore, uniforms often become a financial burden on a student’s family.…

If kids weren’t required to wear a certain dress code, they would’ve the total freedom to come however they feel like. Many people argue that schools who required uniforms are taking the right of the students to express themselves in a unique way; however, schools who don’t require uniforms are promoting students to express themselves by the way they dress and not by who they truly are and their personality, so this makes them feel pressured to dress a certain way to be able to be accepted. This then becomes a social issue that creates competency among them of who wears the best outfit. Some kids may feel superior to others because they might feel “richer” by the way they dress, and the “poor people” start to become excluded from the society. This issue affects parents as well as they don’t want their kids to feel excluded, and be bullied simple because of what they are wearing on the…
