There are several nonverbal codes that people use in our environment to replace the use of verbal ones. Nonverbal codes are symbols we use to send messages, without are in addition to, words.(p.134) Sometimes we use these codes in ways that are not meant to be. Although I would prefer someone speak to me verbally, there’s always a great chance that person will use nonverbal codes in our conversation. I think replacing verbal codes can almost certainly get the message across.
Observation

The two story building is blue with the name Metro on the front in big white letters. It has two front entrance and have upstairs apartments. There’s an open shed outside where the DJ plays music in the summer. Individuals come here to mingle and have social gatherings. As people arrive on the parking, they greet each other with a hello, hug, or shake of the hand. They speak with a tone as if they are already under the influence of something. Some of them don’t speak at all.
Nonverbal Behaviors. Nonverbal behaviors are regular and all mixed up in this type of environment. Some of the people tend to not get along with one another. There have been times where I’ve been at work and people start arguing and ready to fight. A man and his wife was fusing over another guy hitting on his wife. There are different personalities and nonverbal behaviors in this environment.
Cultural Nonverbal Cues. Being in this environment almost every day of the week, I notice several nonverbal cues. Some of the nonverbal cues that I noticed in the environment were people whispering and pointing their finger at one another. Some of the individuals that don’t get along are usually the ones who hang out there every day. They tend to roll their eyes are even turn their nose up.
