Creatine is one of the safest supplements for sports available. There are still a few safety concerns to considers when supplementing creatine. A common concern is kidney damage. Although it has not been proven true many people believe this. There have been studies completed on the effects on the kidneys. One of the studies was done on people that took in ten grams of creatine a day. This is double the recommended amount. Their kidney functions showed no change over the 12 week experimental period. The supplement is proven to be safe but, still recommended that only people 18 years and older use it. The main reason for this because most studies were completed on individuals 18 years and older.
