35-year-old Ricky McGee, Australian local, was driving down a road when he saw an upcoming hitchhiker. He gave the suspicious man a ride when he claims that moments later he drugged him. The man left him in the outback of Australia. McGee says he followed a stream and ate leeches and grasshoppers for the long time that he was there. Eventually, he wondered onto private property when the owner spotted him and was terrified. The land owner says he was talking with a human skeleton. Leeches and grasshoppers aren’t exactly part of an ideal “three month diet” plan.
These people are alive today because of their own sweat, blood, and tears. They worked hard to stay live. The reason they actually lived was because they were mentally stable enough to think about how they still wanted to be alive. They did not give up because their life was on the line. Simpson didn’t know if he would be found but he still dragged himself for five miles. Mcgee did not know that the stream would lead him onto private property. Both of these men continued because they were determined to stay alive. People will actually work harder than they do any other day to stay

The word survival connotes a life versus death issue, but when considering situations of survival a person must remember “We each survive in our own way” (Maas 21). According to Google, the definition of survival is “the state or fact of continuing to live or exist, typically in spite of an accident, ordeal, or difficult circumstances,” which opens up the interpretation to extend beyond living and include emotional, mental or social survival (1). While some people argue that a person in a situation of survival should be held accountable for their actions, it is unethical to not take into consideration the circumstances of an incident. A person seeking simplicity can argue that one person killing another is as simple as black and white, and…

Sure, there are now Avengers films being released at that time, but December is where they roll out the films that could be nominated for awards. If you take a look at this holiday season — I have taken a guess at starting from October 1st – January 6th, because October 1st is the first official time I saw a Christmas movie promotion on television — you’ll notice a load of movies that are not only big budget, but also just begging to get nominated for an…
