I consider not having to remember phone numbers as a major benefit of technology. Even though we have all but stopped remembering them we are now able to store hundreds more in our phone and computers and can take them anywhere, which is incredible. Technology saves lives through things as simple as a 911 call, to complex rescue missions. It is estimated that 70% of all 911 calls are done on cell phones. Thanks to cell phones, many lives have been saved because of their quick and easy accessibility. Before cell phones if your car broke down on the highway you waited for someone to come by or hopefully a neighbor to come along to give you a ride. Not very safe considering that not all people have the best intentions. Cell phones can also play a huge role in rescue missions.
