Why Do People Like Schools

Most kids hate school because a lot of what we learn is boring and we think we will never use a lot of the things we are forced to know perfectly. I always like learning but never liked school because it was hard for me to learn. A lot of kids don't like school at all and would not agree with me that a Performing Arts School like the Center for Performing and Fine Art has diverse, studies, and is interesting, fun and is educational. I never thought learning could be that interesting and diverse. School seemed boring and all the same every year. After I went to CPFA I realized that hard schoolwork could be interesting. The Center of Performing and Fine Arts teaches about artists, different styles and that is very interesting to learn about so many different things. Art is an important part of life and at CPFA we learn about all the famous artist and their artistic style. At CPFA we see how the artists have been a part of history. We learn about history and the past through the art we study. Learning about history through the artists and art made a sometimes-boring subject interesting. Schoolwork can be very hard and not interactive. But CPFA teaches about all types of art such as music, theatre, dance, drawing and sculpture. Sometimes projects in a regular school make learning hard and are not meaningful to some kids. A lot of the …show more content…
Most kids do not think school is enjoyable but they probably never went to a school that teaches so many important things and or had a teacher that made school interesting, diverse, fun and very interactive. Regular school was really hard for me and I was always happy to have a teacher who did things differently and it didn't have to be a huge, long and hard project just to be good. We can learn hard things but not always in a hard way. I am glad for the teachers in all the schools I went to that knew making things different was ok because I still

Lynda Barry, author of “The Sanctuary of School” points out “the only place where we could count on being noticed was at school” (Barry 143). School is a place where neglected children get attention that is where Lynda Barry got attention. The school system is a place where some children get the most love. If some children did not receive love at school their life would probably be pretty hard. School and teachers save some…

The schools have a purpose to teach the students and prepare them for the upcoming future. The major focus in school is math, science, English, and history. There seems to be a lack on the teaching of values and ethics, the teaching of how life is really like outside of the 4 walled classroom. There is not a class on how to make better life decisions, and how to succeed. Without knowing the difference between right and wrong one is not able to navigate and be successful on the mere education that is provided by the school system.…

As I walked into the AP Studio Art classroom on the first day of my field study, I was taken aback by the vivid colors and distinct decorations that fought for my attention. Before studying the class, my perception of art had always been that it was sporadic, messy, and wild yet organized beautifully by an artist to make something for everyone to enjoy. This description fit the art classroom exactly. The walls were obviously originally painted white, but over the years have been transformed into landscapes of masterpieces by art students enrolled in the courses. Pictures of human eyes, dragons, mountains, and other shapes stole my attention as I attempted to take in the scenery.…

I think it’s hard to put into words how I feel about going to school. When I was younger, school was something fun that I looked forward to. My sister liked school, too. As I grew up, I looked forward to going to school less and less. Now that I’m an adult, I’m returning to school.…

After reading about both the article in contexts reader, and then about Bourdieu’s theory; I believe the ideas presented in the article more so than those of Bourdieu. While Bourdieu’s theory of reproduction does have its merits, I believe that schools play an immense role when it comes to narrowing social inequality because it has done so for my family. When I was younger, I hated school. My mom (A single mother) would have to fight me tooth and nail to get me to school every day, and even then, up until High school I usually boasted the record of most absences. We were very poor at the time; she herself was taking night classes at a local university, trying to build a career and thus, stability for her family;…

Why I Dislike School School has not always been something that I hate. As I’m sure is remembered, I used to not want to leave school, and looked forward to going in the morning. This is obviously not true anymore, for a multitude of reasons. School, specifically Jones and 12-14, is very different from how I grew up having school, from levels 3-6 to 9-12.…

To be honest, I hate school with a passion, yet I love learning as much as living. As a child, schooling created a feeling of loneliness and sadness that echoed throughout my life, even now. I didn’t meet the standard levels for literacy and was separated from my classmates in elementary school for special reading and writing classes. Also the lack of freedom to say and move the way I wished to, and the rebellion that stemmed out of me in middle school due to these limitations. Finally, the conforming in high school to appease my mother, friends that drove me over the edge, yet even now I feel the same bull-crap in college.…

School is both stressful and fun. Almost everyone in this world has been or will go to school at one point in their lives. A Paper Mache Disaster Art school taught me several things I did not know about myself. Like how technique- orientated I was and how my perfectionism often acquired the best of me. It reminded me about minor failures that would transform into drastic dramatic catastrophes. Consequently, it also reminded me about All my friends, all of which thought I was psychotic. Here, academics were enjoyable, while on the contrary, what felt extremely demanding was the art aspect.…
