The second amendment stated in the Bill of Rights says that people have the right to bear arms. Whether if you are a U.S. citizen, militia, or a law enforcement officer, you can own a gun. Some people are confused about this amendment because it is not very specific. The whole amendment actually contains two different ideas in the same sentence, so thats why people are confused. So, was giving citizens the right to own a weapon the righteous thing to do? Congress ratified the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1791, granting Americans the right to bear arms.
