I would like to respond to Professor Clark first and say that I do believe that people today dehumanize groups by generalizing them. For instance, many people run around and speak ill of Muslims completely ignoring the fact that Muslim isn’t a race of people, but the name of people who practice a particular belief system. Not to mention, there are multiple sects of Islam and various intricacies within each of them. Segueing back to the point, these types of generalizations degrade entire groups making it easier for people to collectively cluster swaths of people into a single stereotype – usually with negative connotations. Such a practice can easily increase the likelihood of aggression and or prejudice towards said groups because
