The ethnic groups that live in the neighborhoods surrounding Hull House are, Italians--Neapolitans, Sicilians, and Calabrians, with an occasional Lombard or Venetian, Germans, Polish and Russian Jews. There were also Canadians, French, Irish, first generation Americans and Americans who grew up there. Yes they are because immigrants were coming from all over the world and the groups listed in the article where very common to come to America.

A Lot of big cities had immigrants coming into them because there was work in the big cities and opportunities. There was also the same problems in the big cities as there was in Chicago overpopulation and they were super dirty. All big cities at this time had almost the same problems and the government did not do a good job fixing the big cities until later.
In Conclusion Jane Addams was ahead of her time she fought with the government for laws to help people stay clean and healthy. She created a place for immigrants to come and learn the new country the had just moved in. She did this all in a time where people thought taking baths was a taboo. She was so ahead of her time that she came up with the idea of using a wet cloth to keep baby's clean and she went door to door to give it to mothers so the babies can be clean and healthy. Jane Addams was a great woman who was called bad names and looked at bad because she wanted to keep cities clean and help people
