Why Do Mars 2020

NASA is planning for the launch date of the Mars rover to be 2020.the rover will be built on human curiosity. There will be differences in the rover the differences will be determined on the last rover sent to Mars. The scientist will be putting in landing system, including a sky crane and a heat shield. The rover body can be created without doing any other building or research. This will reduce the overall risk for the mission, while saving money and time on development. One of the rover upgrades is a better control system called Terrain Relative Navigation to better control the steering in the final moments of the rover landing. The rover will have wheels that are bigger and the wheels will be stronger and will be more reliable to reduce width and a greater diameter than Curiosity's.A multi-mission Radioisotope Thermo-electric Generator, , leftover as a backup path for construction, will power the …show more content…
It will take less power. It will take more power when the earth and mars are in a position in their orbit. The mars 2020 mission is a high priority for many scientific questions, including is there life on Mars. If there is life on Mars what form of life is it.
