So many things happened to me this year; I don’t even know where to start. This was the year I went to homecoming by myself for the first time instead of with a date. After homecoming, everything went downhill from there. My boyfriend at the time was best friends with Kyle Markins and I have a few good and a few bad memories of him. Even though I fought with Kyle sometimes, he was nonetheless a friend of mine. I still remember finding out about what happened. I was in shock for so many days until it finally sunk in that I will never see him again. I used to look for him in the hallways and my brain would put his face on another person to trick me, then I would realize that it wasn’t actually him I was looking at. Soon after losing someone I cared about, I was staying the weekend with my grandparents and my little brother when I got a text from my neighbor saying to talk to my parents. Little did I know it was about to be the worst night of my …show more content…
I had texted my neighbor, Kevin, back in order to find out what was going on, because obviously he was in the loop of things. I waited for a reply and when I opened his message, I was in a state of disbelief. He had said to me that my house had somehow caught on fire and was burning down as we spoke. I ran downstairs and curled up on the couch to cry until my grandma came up to me to figure out what was going on. I informed her right away and we packed up our things and headed to the house, just getting there in time to see the disaster left standing where I used to feel safe. My whole world was turned upside

I am about to tell you my story of a time in my life where I felt shunned by everyone.…

High school was either going to help me make it or break it. Bell High School was not among the top high schools in my district. It was known for its high drop out rates, teen pregnancies, and gang violence. As I rushed to school attempting to finish my homework because I was not able to finish while babysitting, I always herd “Hey come take a hit “or “ look at this new product, try it out”, we all wanted to succeed, but nobody wanted to put in the time and effort to divert us from the wrong paths. Unfortunately, this led may students towards drug addictions and gang violence.…
