All About Me
Then it hit me, I would be off to college in a matter of months. All these years of school, preparing me for this big moment and I had no idea what I want to do with my life. There are so many decisions, such as which colleges to apply to, which colleges do I thing will actually accept me, what do I want to do when I am older. Also Colleges not only look at your application, they look at what you have done. They look at if you will help their college look better with your personal qualities. They are interested in building a student body that is academically curious, but also diverse and they want students who are actively engaged in a range of activities. There is no way of getting around that, colleges look at everything you

There are so many questions that must be answered you senior year of high school. There are so many choices in colleges, and you can limit that down if you know what career you are looking into. However, for the time being I do not have an answer to these questions, but I have set some goals for myself. One being I do not want to go to a big college quite yet, because I want to play volleyball and do not think I am ready to play for a division one school quite yet. The second I want to start at a junior college, because of the different money and scholarships I can gain. With these smaller schools and can get my generals and decide what I want to do before I pay a whole bunch of money into something I do not like. Also, I have pushed myself to get the best grades that I can, they are not perfect by any means, but they are the best that I could do in that class. With these grades I can receive better scholarships, the more money I can get the less debt I will be in when I go on to a more superior college. My goal for a bigger college is to have my occupation picked out. I have three major possibilities, one is physical therapy, two is athletic training, and the last is possibly learning to become a chiropractor. Obviously, my interests lie within the human body, how when they get hurt I can figure out what happened, what is wrong, and how to fix it. I think that relieving someone’s pain is …show more content…
The first club I learned about was Key Club, I heard it was a great way to serve your community and it looked great on a college application. So my freshman year I decided to join, and it is great! I feel so much pleasure as each month we pick a service project, such as cleaning the highway or helping with the pet clinic. It is so awesome to know that I am helping. The next club I joined was FCCLA which stands for Family Career Community Leaders of America, this is the club that shows you leadership. It has taught me so much about how to stand in front of a crowd and not be scared, it has also taught me a lot about myself and how great my weakness is in leadership. Then there cam W-Club, this is a club to keep high school students out of drugs and alcohol. We made an oath that stated we could not participate in parties that included these substances. Therefore it was a great club to join and I am so happy I did, because we also get to go to elementary schools and teach them that participating in that stuff is not good. Also my junior year I was accepted into NHS or National Honor Society. This is a great club to get accepted into, it is really hard, and because of the many requirements you must reach. I made all those requirements and was so proud that I got into the club. Not only am I involved in all of these clubs I am also involved in my church; we do things every Wednesday night. Things

My mom is kind of shocked about how much pressure they put on high school students nowadays for what they what to go into and do in life. Last week friday, I went on a college visit to Cornerstone University. It is a great Christian university, but it overwhelmed me with all the different major and minor options I could choose from. By participating in these clubs, I am doing way more than listing a club I joined for a college application to show the type of person I am. I am building experiences, learning different sides of myself (finding what I like), building character, and demonstrating teamwork. To elaborate, the Speech/ Debate team is a perfect demonstration of what I am implicating when I say ‘clubs build character.' This club helps you appreciate different points of views and how to apprehend how others might think compared to you, how bland their point of view can be or how ingenious and respectable their opinion seems to you. By arguing (constructively), you learn over time that not everyone might share your perspective, and how you, in reality are a teeny-tiny ant compared to the world.…
